Album Review: A Head Full Of Dreams by Coldplay

Coldplay’s  colourful new album A Head full of Dreams visually and sonically is one not to be underestimated. There are more guest appearances than any other Coldplay album before – with Beyoncé, Tove Lo, Noel Gallagher, and Merry Clayton amongst them.

There is a real sense of fun throughout the whole of the album, and I for one have enjoyed listening to it from the start. Coldplay have delivered a belter of an album, and the use of electronic elements in this one is strong.

From track to track, there are catchy tunes, interesting synths, funky rhythms and enchanting vocals. Hymn for the Weekend is a favourite from the album with a guest performance from Beyoncé and has been named by BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac as the ‘hottest record in the world’. Whilst Adventure of a Lifetime has been featured heavily on BBC Radio 1 with their appearance in the Live Lounge last week.

Tove Lo features on this album in track six, Fun. Tove Lo is a Swedish, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, and released her own electropop album in 2014 titled Queen of the Clouds.

This has got to be up there in the top albums of the year, and what a year it has been for music.

A Head Full of Dreams is available for purchase on iTunes and in music retailers.
